Sportraits - Huddersfield and Halifax, Yorkshire

Doesn't everyone dream of the chance to step into the shoes of their favourite sports star?

Here's your chance to live that dream. Let me capture dynamic action shots or 'sportraits' of you taking part in your sport of choice that look good enough to appear on the cover of a magazine.

Whether you're into football, dancing, rugby, golf, gymnastics, athletics, mountain biking, skateboarding, water skiing, hockey or something completely different and would like some professional pictures give me a call. It would also be a fun experience and unique gift for the sports enthusiast in your life!

I'm easygoing, friendly and chilled out and the images we create together will be high quality and dynamic. Sport is one of my real passions in life so I'll enjoy the shoot as much as you!

At John Steel Photography we pride ourselves on being transparent, open and honest. What you see is always what you get. There'll be no surprises or hidden costs.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How long will the shoot take?
It depends, every shoot is a unique experience. On average it takes a couple of hours.
  • Where will the shoot take place?
Anywhere you want. It could be the natural home of your sport or activity – the football pitch, the dance studio etc – or it could be somewhere completely different. I have photographed golfers on the beach, gymnasts in a tree and skateboarders in a warehouse so have a think about what will produce the most exciting images. Give me a shout if you need any advice about what will work as a backdrop. As long as it's somewhere that we have permission to use and will create fabulous pictures, it's fine with me. Especially if there's a cup of tea at the end of it!
  • Will you travel?
For sportraits outside a fifty mile radius of Brighouse (nr Huddersfield and Halifax), West Yorkshire, I ask for 40p per mile towards travelling expenses.
  • How much does a session cost?
A photoshoot costs £250 which includes the high resolution images from the shoot on disc.
  • How does this differ from a portrait session?
Although it's a similar idea, to produce the sporting images we sometimes need more time to set up the lighting and posing to make them look as dramatic as possible. A portrait session is a little more spontaneous.
  • What products are available?
I have a wide range of products available including beautiful fine art wedding albums, framed prints, canvas wraps, parents' albums and lay-flat coffee table books. Please check out my products page for more details.

Prices

We'll spend at least two hours together during the session to make sure we get the best places, shots and eventually images possible. I work hard on a shoot to find the best locations and lighting for each individual picture. A session like this costs £250 which not only includes the two hour photography session but also all the magic that goes on in my studio in between – the specialist editing that gives your pictures that extra wow factor that will take your breath away. A disc of high resolution images from the shoot is also included in the session fee.
